Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) Housing agrees to place all members of the Armed Forces who are in housing need into Band B.
This includes those who are leaving the Armed Forces having received their notice of discharge date; or have left in the last five years, having been medically discharged in the last five years; or served the required minimum level of service. This does not include Discharge As Of Right (DAOR).
Those in housing need who have a serious injury, medical condition or disability sustained as a result of their service in the Armed Forces, will be placed in Band A (top priority).
West Cheshire Homes policy has been developed by Cheshire West and Chester Council in partnership with ForHousing, Sanctuary Housing, and Weaver Vale Housing Trust. This Policy has made Armed Forces and former Armed Forces members a category of need in housing allocation.
